LA Auto Show 2014
Went to the LA Auto Show charity preview tonight and here are a few of the Porsche highlights;
918 Supercar. Looks 10x better in person than photos. Beautiful car. I personally don't care for the hybrid technology; Porsche could have just as well matched the power output and performance numbers using a larger displacement V-8 and 4WD system. But who cares, it looks great!
991 GTS. Yet another 991 variant. Thank you sir, may I have another? 15 is not enough.
Patrick Dempsey's GT America. This race car is based on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup but designed exclusively for the United Sports Car Racing series GT Daytona class. 4.0L flat six, 470hp, sequential gearbox. Very cool.

Very cool. I hope they do the same display at the San Diego show at the end of the year

Too bad Tudor USCC changed the rules and the 911 GT America won't be eligible in the future...think of those that invested in the autos, only to have the rules changed. No wonder, many teams will leave for PWC. Would love to see the 918 in person one day; hopefully one of the Chicago based dealers can get one to display.

If you get a chance, can you get a pic of the 991 Targa and post it? Both of my pic's were a little out of focus. I think that car looks strange in photos but beautiful in person.
And maybe I'm a little partial to Targa's these days...

What do you think about this?

The auto show is one of the few things I actually miss about L.A. since moving. Since they moved it to November I have not been able to find an excuse to get out there to see it. The Phoenix auto show that starts next week completely blows in comparison!
The Porsche's display (they usually had their own seprate part of of the convention center) in my opinion is usually the best display of all the manufacters.

Just got back from the show. Yes, the 918 looks awesome, I like the Boxster/Cayman GTS and the 991 Targa is pretty sweet as well. Saw a lot of friends there at the Early Bird PCA breakfast.

I don't think they are standard on the GTS.

Leaving in a couple of days to visit family in Long Beach. I think we're going on Friday. I can't wait. I haven't been in 10+ years.
