Pricing Help - 2000 Boxster S - 60k Miles

What would be a good purchase price for this car? It is Burgundy with a gray top and interior. I've attached a few pictures.

According to the seller:

Boxster S, 60,050 miles, beautifully maintained, 60k miles service already done, spent the majority of it's life in Texas (no snow or salt on the roads). 6-speed manual, tires still have plenty of life in them, carpets, leather, paint and wheels are all in fantastic shape. All manuals and most service records included.

Driver Air Bag; Anti-Lock Brakes; Air Conditioning; Alloy Wheels; AM/FM Radio; Cruise Control; Compact Disc Player; Passenger Air Bag; Power Seats; Leather Seats; Power Door Locks; Power Mirrors; Power Windows; Side Air Bag; Tilt Wheel;

Edmunds says about $23,500 for a private party sale. The seller is asking $26,500.

What are your thoughts about this car versus a 98 with 17,000 miles and a hardtop?

Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen pricing but my recomendation is to pass on this one.
The mileage is not bad but I think you can do much much better.

I hear auto brokers are a good way to go. If you can find one that knows Porsche and has access to the PA private dealer auctions.

Low mileage should be a top priority. Even if maintenance has been done dutifuly repairs are more likely to be done on high mileage cars. And as everyone knows Porsches are not cheap to repair.

p.s.
No 18" wheels, HID lights, and aero kit? you want an S and at least a 2000 if you are buying in this price range (25K-30K)
p.s.s.
I paid $30K for 10K miles also a 2000S in Nov. of 2004. This seller may be asking a bit much..

I agree. And don't forget you gotta deamberectomize it in the first week so that adds more money...
