Code 396 is for 17" Boxster Design Wheels, not the phone dials.

The PSE and taillights were obviously added afterwards, as I don't believe they were even offered in 1999.

Great looking Boxster

Thanks. Corrected the post.

It also appears the calipers were painted or changed to red, clear front side marker lights and a chrome Boxster trunk badge.

Post a photo of the interior.

Are your rotors drilled? If so and your front calipers & rotors are noticeably larger than the back calipers, you might have S brakes. Very unlikely but possible

Rotors are not drilled. He did say that he had the calipers painted though.
