New Guy

Hello All!

New to the group as I just bought my first Porsche last week. This 1999 has 77,500 miles on it and is a blast to drive. I live in So Cal so looking forward to a few months of good driving season left.

I have belonged to a similar group for my dirt bike in the past and gained a wealth of knowledge and information that made my ownership experience that much better and looking forward to the same will this group.

Thanks- Jerry

Welcome to the group The car looks very nice for it's age. Do you have any history on it? Wish you may miles of driving enjoyment.

Very cool Jerry. Welcome.

Come on over to the Four Seasons hotel located on Two Dole Drive in Westlake Village on Sunday, October 12th. The Santa Barbara Porsche Club of America is holding their 38th Annual Concours d’Elegance. Should be a lot of nice Porsches there. A certain red Boxster will be entered. Stop by and say hi.

Welcome! I also have a 1999. Look forward to seeing more pics/hearing about your car!

Welcome! Nice looking ride. Those wheels are a keeper for sure. Good luck with the new (to you) Boxster.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! I know a little about the car- was purchased here locally and has been in the area the whole time. Records indicate good maintenance and no damage history. Other than the wheels and aero kit, it has a nice exhaust on it (I have no idea on brand), new top and generally in really clean and well kept condition.

The only current issue I have is that it did not come with an owners manual so I've been on a search for one. If anyone has any tips or ideas, please let me know.

Chuck W- Thanks for the invite to the the Concours on Sunday; I may be working but will try to make it out there and will look you up if I do.

It looks like the Porsche Sport Exhaust. There a few places to download the manuals from and user itsnotanova on this board may be able to sell you a manual, he parts out boxsters and always has a few. Good luck with your new car!

Did you win the auction, that was a steal for the manuals

itsnotanova 10-10-2014 06:30 AM

Nice boxster! That is a PSE and very desirable. You'll have to research on here and see how lucky you are to get a car with one. I've only come across one so far and I sold it for $750. That muffler goes for $500-1500 on ebay. $500 being the people who don't know what they have. I got your PM and I believe I have one owners manual and case for a 99. $25 shipped. Text me at 512-925-9171 if you're interested

And that

Is why I love this forum

Wow- Go me!! This really is a beautiful car and honestly the only one I even looked at. Nice to hear that I did well on it.

Thanks for checking on the Owners Manual and I will be in touch.
