Water drip inside
As we were driving back to San Diego from LA, my wife noticed that there was cold water dripping on her foot. It as not a stream of drops, but about 6-8 drops she felt
When I got home, I checked the carpet and it was dry. I checked on the drivers side as well and the AC duct (black duct going across the drivers side just under the dash) was wet on the outside
I am thinking it probably is just condensation. The outside temp went from low 80s to low 70's and then back to about 80. It was when the temp went back to 80 that we noticed the dripping.
The entire trip was top down (only way to go in So Cal!) and I always keep the AC on. AC temp was set to 70
Is my theory correct, or is there something I need to worry about??

Condensation. No worries. You get used to it driving top down and AC on here in FL.

Does people actually use A/C with the top down? I can truthfully say I used the heater with the top down in Germany while it was snowing but I don't ever remember using A/C with top down.

Just had this happen to me today. Goes away when I turn the A/C off. Is it a clogged or disconnected drain line or a "normal" occurrence that I shouldn't worry about??

I don't think it is anything to worry about
It has only happened once to me and it probably had to do with both rapid temp change as well as humidity. It was also later in the evening and I bet the dew point changed as well

Put the ac on interior re circulation with the roof down to give it an easier time.

Otherwise top down in the hot southern sun is unbearable, I need air conditioned seats like in a Mercedes.

Mostly likely your AC drain tube needs cleaning as well as the exit from the AC condensation tray. You'll find the hose by pulling back the carpet on the passenger side near the left front. The condensation collection tray isn't draining fast enough.

Happened again today. Weird thing is it was at the same geographic location, right around San Juan Capistrano San Clemente area. Similar temp changes as well.
I will look into the drain tube
