Repair estimate was at the only Porsche Certified Shop in Illinois, I'm sure I can get it done somewhere else cheaper.

Are you at fault, if not, have the car fixed and ask for depreciation. If you are at fault, everything is alot more difficult and in that case not all states can compensate for deprecation, and this service will show up on a car fax making the car much harder to sell. You could probably make money off of parting out the car, my totaled car was valued at 3.5k but mine has more miles and such and i did not really have the time to total it out. You could probably push the price a bit higher to have the car totaled if that is in your best interest.
