that looks repairable to me - new rear bumper cover and paint to match ($2k) new tail light, new rear spoiler, new bumper and shock ($1k) + ??? (alignment? muffler, ?). take the car and the $10k balance and fix it. might wind up with $5k in your pocket when done, but with a base boxster salvage title. the same $14k would get you a clean S the same age.
part out should net you a bit more than the $4k asking but comes with work selling and shipping stuff - how do you value your time? I would be interested in a 5-speed with lsd if it comes to that ...
