That was actually Robin Masters 308 (aka - Higgins) :D

I was about 5 in the late 70's and someone in the neighborhood (I never figured out who) owned a mid-late 70's 911S or SC. I just loved the way it looked and sounded when it drove by. One time an neighbour's dog ran out in the road and it effortlessly swerved around it like a race car. I have wanted one ever since. I just about bought an 80 SC targa about 10 years ago, but was going through a job change and didn't pull the trigger. I've been reading some of the restoration threads online about S and SC's and I want one again. Too bad they have gone up in price quite a bit in the last 10 years. I will just have to keep enjoying my Boxster for now.

I had too many cars I desired as a kid... :o

Wasn't Higgins the caretaker for Robin Masters? Car really did belong to Higgins in real life as I recall? (Or one of them, not Tom Selleck)

1970 Boss 302 mustang
These are the cars I grew up with

I'm not chasing because they are more expensive now then most older Farraris and Porsches

I'm not worthy!

That exact one in that picture has always been my childhood dream car.

Some say it was the last true super car; it was so impractical for anything other than performance.

I'm with Timco - always wanted a 308 or 328, in red of course. I've actually been semi-serious in looking at them a couple of times over the last few years. If I stumble across the right one it could happen, as long as it doesn't mean giving up the Boxster.

I do like the XKE's but I would have no interest in taking on the maintenance headache of owning any Jag.

I drove a 69 Boss 302, it was a fun car. a real land yacht though when compared to modern sports cars... now a 66 GT40... that car is pure magic.

+2, 930 in black, rims black with a polished lip:D

I had pretty adult tastes for a kid.

A book about this car sat on my nightstand.

I drove my folks bonkers for a month wanting this Bimmer

And this was my idea of a cool Porsche. I always thought the 911 looked too much like a VW Beetle (until I saw the slant nose on TV).

Renting a 308 for a day quickly cured me! :(

Yes, Higgins was the caretaker of Robins Nest, but it was revealed in either the last episode or a TV special that he was actually Robin Masters...or highly suggested. Can't remember.

I was so obsessed with this car...

I have a drawing of it around here somewhere that I did when I was eight years old (1986) :D

not a big fan of the production countachs with the flares and the spoilers and the big scoops and whatnot, but check out the prototype lp500 or the initial production lp400 - pure art.

Perfectlap 04-22-2014 09:56 AM

a guy nearby had a yellow Countach. The first time I saw it up close I couldn't believe how small the car was. My Boxster looked bigger.

For all you Jag lovers, this is me in 76 (I'm the little one). My parents gave me the sports car bug early. The car is still in the family but in need of major surgery.

Little or not, you seem to look like a proud "owner" lol

Brilliant pic mate

I always have to break this down into a couple catagories....

1) True DREAM car that I will never be able to get....1968 427 AC Cobra. No comforts, just pure power. The truest testament this car is that there are more replicas available than there are originals.

2) Dream car that I may be able to get in the future....1968 Ford Mustang GT (J code). Semi-rare and only year with that code. I had one once, and ALWAYS pissed that I got rid of it.
