Went for a drive today...

Started out running by the Porsche dealer for an alignment (noticed some odd wear on the back left tire) and to put in new bolts connecting half axles to cv joints. (was on hand me downs from http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/50505-initiation.html ) Also had my cars computer checked, everything was fine aside from the seatbelts causing my airbag light which is now reset . Proceeding all of this and a quick lunch at McAlister's Deli (California Turkey Reuben) I went on quite the trip through the western Carolinas. The drive started by curving around the Greenville Watershed, the road was deserted aside from cyclist this dumped me out into Saluda n.c. where then the box enjoyed a winding road down to the green river where many Olympian kayakers practice. (MapQuest Maps - Driving Directions - Map) After leaving heading back up the mountain and stopping in Saluda, (A great town that offered great ice cream.) the boxster was used for some lake side cruising by summit lake. After this I found my favorite road and i think the Dragons Tail is done for, Pinnacle Mountain Road is the most empty fun road i have ever driven on. Part 1/2.

This is the route leaving from the Green River. Here are some pics from the Ridgeline of PM road.

The only catch about this road is..... once you cross the ridgeline.... its gravel.

The car was actually great fun offroad! I drove responsibly and carefully as i know the car is not made for this, however it was great fun . This dumped me out in The Dupont forest ,stopped by some waterfalls
A vineyard, and then proceeded down from Caesar's head (another great windy road.) once back down in s.c. i drove through table rock and made my way back towards home!

Where is that drive. Im over near Jacksonville. NC. I cut my Porsche teeth in Monterey California, hitting roads through Carmel Valley and on the track at Laguna Seca... Fast forward to now i need to find something over here that will satisfy like they did.

There is a mapquest in the post... But lots of good roads in western North Carolina along the s.c. Border.. I also suggest the roads aroud Bryson city. But the entrance to that pinnicale mountain road is right off of exit 5 on I26

Looks like a real nice drive. Here in Phoenix you got go out of town to see some serious curves.

The colors in your pictures reminds of photos taken by an old Kodak Disc camera from the 80s. What did you do to get those colors to look like that?
