Crazy, I've never heard of a factory badged S without the S engine.
I've got the 2.5 and love the car. After picking up my 996, I can say I've got the power bug (that's a whole other thread
), but I'm having a hard time parting with a car that's been great to me. Will drive a 986S and a 987 base, but I'm in no hurry as I've got the 911 to get rid of now.
When I went to my local dealer to get a new rear badge in silver, I was surprised that it also came with the silver "S". Obviously I eft it off the car, but maybe the previous owner picked up a replacement and just stuck the entire thing on?? Who knows....
