AM Radio noise suppressor

My Becker 220 CDR is acting up again when switched to AM. Most days AM is unintelligible; FM is fine. Anyone use a noise suppressor ? Can this be a ground issue ? Or, is it most likely an antenna problem ?

Today I verified that the AM still gets static when the engine is off...Antenna connection ?

Clean the gound for the antenna amp, located in passenger side A pilar.
