Speedo said 110 in the Boxster when entering the Tollway in Florida a few weeks ago. Feels really smooth to that point, but had to slow down, too many police around.

In my younger (read stupid) days, I was in my 1990 Convertible GT Mustang. It had LOTS of mods and straight line was crazy fast. In the desolate stretches of I-5 between L.A. and S.F. I hit 148 (according to the speedo). I had the top down and it was loud. Looking back, it didn't feel all that stable, but as I said, I was much younger (21 (read dumber)). A little later on that drive a cop pulled me over, said he clocked me at 128 about three miles back. Don't know how I managed to get off with 75 in a 55 zone, and traffic school completely erased it.

I think my best was 129 mph in my modest 2.5L Boxster with my mother as my passenger...

180 mph. I was sitting in the left seat but unfortunately steering and pedals were on the right. I was in the first GT40 that John Wyer took to Le Mans and at Road America.
