i owned my S for almost 3 years.
used the 6th gear only twice.
once when i bought the car, just to check if it works.
and second time when i sold it, just to show the buyer it works.

For me its about 70-72 (speedo = actual 66-68 mph) and then cruise @ 75 on a typical 65 zone. That puts the RPMs a shade under 3 grand. If I go under 70 then back to 5th or if uphill stretch

6th gear is really for going over 120.

I live with the keep it over 2000 RPM minimum philosophy. I also use the 1 gear for every 10 MPH for easy cruise. And whale on it whenever I can.
