Mine's Finnish. Only difference I feel is the location they were assembled!

"U" not "V". If there is a U in the VIN, it was built in Finland.
Valmet in Finland is regarded as having very high standards with regard to the Boxster. They apparantly developed a water-based paint regiment that Porsche later implemented in Germany.

While I'm sure it's good in some ways I can say it's the softest clear I've seen and that's BAD for me. Cut and polish with care!

Ausgezeichnet!
I bought my 2001 S without knowing where it was built, but I admit to being pleased when I discovered it was built in Stuttgart. I guess that makes me a snob. Sorry.

My 1999 came from Finland, although I have been to Stuttgart, does that count?

I've heard the Finnish-built cars were of a better overall quality than the German-built units. I can't claim that myself, though mine has been excellent, and was built in Uusikaupunki.
The 981 is built in Osnabrück (old Karmann factory) and Stuttgart.

While we're on the subject, lets all learn the correct name for the town in Finland which puts the U in our VIN numbers: Uusikaupunki.
My Boxster is Finnish, as is half of its owner, and that suits me fine.

German built here- great build quality, paint is the best paint I've ever seen on a car, and has been dead reliable as long as I've had it.

My 2004 S was built in Stuttgart. Always felt special because of that, but I am sure it was just mental.

Finland. I'd prefer Stuttgart but that just cause I'm German. Not sure there is any real difference.
