I had the same problem ..i replaced the entire cable the new cables are upgraded more thicker...that cable looks like a " y " one goes connects to the little black box in the engine compartment and the other end one goes on the starter and one on the alternator....when they go bad they heat up and wont produce any eletricity to the starter or alternator
