Sorry, I've been off the site for a few days and have missed this thread. Congratulations JD! Extremely happy for you and like so many others, I think you made a very wise choice. We all know how much you have lusted after a Ferrari and it sounds as if you have made a very wise choice. Maintained to the level that I am sure you will, it will likely appreciate over time and in the interim, it makes for an incredible ride and the perfect dangermobile!
While I am saddened at the prospect of losing of losing your imput, incite and humor and while this site will never be the same, I wish you well. Forza Ferrari!
Brad
PS Wow JD, just checked out a couple of listings. No wonder one was given to the Vatican as a gift - at the prices an Enzo commands even they would have trouble affording one! If you can pull this off I think we now know the true identity of Johnny Danger - Thurston Powell IV! If not, I suspect we have been the subject of another very effective JD ruse and the rumors of your demise on this site are a bit premature. You do keep this site alive, JD!

Anyone else here think JD is having a bit of fun with us? I mean, JD, have you thought about ordering a new Porsche 918 and saving several mil?

Thurston Powell IV -showing your age there, Brad! Next he'll be telling us that Ginger and Maryanne were the original Danger girls
Anyone else here think JD is having a bit of fun with us LOL! Ya think? I would have believed a 355, maybe even a 360, but I'm not buying this for a minute.

I am indeed showing my age, Mark, but judging from his driving music selections I have little doubt that JD will know the reference. Regardless, I hope he is having a little fun with us as I would hate to lose JD from this site.
And JD, while based upon your past comments I still think you should buy a used Ferrari in preference to a new 981, I also think that you should hold off on selling the current dangermobile. While Ferraris aren't exactly a dime a dozen, they are still more common than your car. Lets face it, you have personalized your 986 S to the point where is is not only reflective of your individual tastes, it is virtually a one-of-a-kind.
You have already acknowledged that you will take a bath if you sell it right now. While that is undoubtedly correct, I have little doubt that the car's value has already reached its nadir and that over time, the supply of very low-mileage, well-maintained 2000 Boxster S's are going to drop dramatically. It is the first year of the S and with a dual-row bearing, probably the best of the 986's. Period. I think there is every reason to believe that prices will start to go up - expecially for an immaculate, tastefully upgraded example such as yours.

Hey Brad have you seen the price of 944T's lately? And the only thing special about jd's car is the 'I can't drive' low mileage. A body kit, wheels, exhaust and coilovers isn't exactly 'custom' these days.

Absolutely no hate! We all love JD but we know what a trickster he can be sometimes, so we're just a wee bit suspicious... ya gotta admit it's a bit of a leap to go from a $20k Porsche to a 1.2 million dollar Ferrari.
Who is it on here that says "pics or it's not true"?

Showing his age not only with the reference but also with the fading memory: It was Thurston Howell III. Tsk, tsk, tsk. Perhaps Southernstar posted that from his Pewlitt-Hackard computer?

I took it as JD would be # IV? Who knows, I could be wrong though, not the first time.

I got the results of the PPI on the Enzo today. Unfortunately, the tech at Fungula Motor Sports discovered a low windshield washer fluid reading during a durametric test, along with some light dust on spark plug wire #11. According to them, this can result in immediate engine failure. So my plans to buy the Enzo are out.

Despite the disappointing outcome of today's PPI results, I have a new vehicle in mind to help me look beyond the Enzo. The seller says it once belonged to Gavin McLeod of the 'Love Boat' fame.
