Driving around with a broken 2nd gear tooth?

I'm waiting on a new gearbox for my Boxster after the 2nd gear tooth broke.

I can still drive the car if I avoid 2nd gear.

I'm just wondering if this is a good idea or not?

No, because if the broken bit circulates with the oil, and it eventually will, it will drop in between other intact gears, wiping them out and doing more damage. Park it until it is fixed.
