Help, I may purchase these today...

Would these wheels fit my 986, what do you think is a fair price and are these decent wheels for my Boxster? I plan to have them touched up and painted matte black.

19" Porsche wheels and tires

That's a good deal, I'm not sure if they'll fit. You can try using this calculator

Thank you Juicepro. Seems like a great tool but I'm not sure what I'm currently running besides that they are stock 17" wheels. Wheres all the wheel experts at tonight?!?

I have the same wheel in gloss black coming up for sale soon. They fit my 2001 S just fine using a 5mm spacer in the rear.

Here's a picture from an autocross event so you can see them on the car.

Thank you for the preview Nefarious. I have a base model 99, do you know if the fitment would be the same for me?

KRAM36 09-30-2013 04:38 PM

Thought I read somewhere not to run 19" wheels on a 99 Boxster, something about metal fatigue?

Why would you paint those gorgeous wheels black?

Touch The Icon 09-30-2013 06:47 PM

I think that was pre 99 (I hope) hahaha

My car is white with black accents, so it would complete the look. The wheels also have some damage so they'll have to be painted anyways. They look good in black though...

That doesn't look bad. What are you current wheels? Why not just paint those black?

Touch The Icon 10-01-2013 10:30 AM

This is what I am currently working with. Main goal is to upgrade in size otherwise I would just paint these 17's. Seller is back tomorrow, so I hope to seal the deal then.

The front offsets are ok, but the rears are quite high for a 986. I would suggest using 10mm spacers.

Thank you Johnny! I was hoping to hear from you on the matter.

If you're really looking for a more aggressive stance, you could lower the front offset by a good 10mm's as well. As I said, at a minimum, I would recommend using a 10mm spacer on the rears.

Touch The Icon 10-01-2013 06:07 PM

Ya aggressive is exactly what I'm going for :troll:
Thanks for the advice Johnny 10mm it is.

What spacers did you use ?

Touch The Icon 10-02-2013 07:14 PM

I had to go with 5mm because that was the largest they had. Gonna order some 10mm spacers online though. What do you think of the fit?

KRAM36 10-03-2013 04:25 AM

Would like to see some more angles. The back looks perfect to me, but the front I'm not sure.

How did these wheels and tires affect the ride and handling?

Did you need longer lug nuts?
