That's what I use, but get the European blend. That is the one designed for Porsche. Don't ask me if there is anything special about it though, I only use it because it is exactly the same oil as our local Porsche dealer uses. He just buys it in larger capacities.

I just had my Porsche Specialist indy shop put 8.3 litres of Castrol Edge 0W40 in

Castrol EDGE 0W-40 A3/B4 | Features and Recommended Engines | Castrol EDGE

I also have been using Castrol Edge SPT 5W40 fully synthetic and, interestingly, on a recent visit to the Porsche dealership in London, Ontario discovered that they are now using the same in lieu of Mobil1.

I want to say "Search is your friend"...but I won't. (Even though it is!)

I've been using the synthetic Castrol 10W40 for the last several oil changes, and have been good with it. Chose it over the 5W40 based on the recommendation of one of the forum members here, a guy who has a shop in PA that apparently does a fair amount of Porsche work. He's done used oil analysis on these and other oils and said he'd gotten more favorable readings from the 10W40 over the 5W40.
