Smart. Our resident mechanic says his shop toss any that don't hold a minimum presure of 18 PSIG if I recall. Seems to me that if you flush as a DIY without vac fill and have a cap not holding enough pressure you'll like split the original coolant tank via trapped air or worse you'll bake up a fresh batch of hot pockets and burn your tongue.

Heard the same from the dealer parts guy as well. It's a cheap part and no reason why you shouldn't update it to the latest one if you have an original from way back.

Mine started popping off erratically about a month ago. So it's now the .04 version and been fine ever since.
