Durametric tool
Do any of you know where I can possibly rent a Durametric tool online somewhere. I recently moved to arkansas where porsche is a as exotic as a Bugatti.
I recently did some work to the window motor and unplugged the airbag before undoing the battery, ya dumb mistake i know. Now the airbag light is on and I need to reset it. The closest Porsche dealership is a number of hours away and would hate to run all the way up there just for that.
Thanks for any information you all may have!

Just buy one of the Durametric chineese knock-offs for ~$30
PORSCHE PIWIS Durametric Cable - $28.00 : Tool for Car Online Store!, Provide Vehicles Diagnostics Tools at an Affordable Price
It can also reset the airbag.
It just uses the Durametric v5.x software which you can download here free http://www.durametric.com/downloadv5.aspx
and plugs into your laptops USB port.

That's funny you say that jb92563 because I already did just that, and it could only do the basic stuff my obdii scan tool could already do. And could not clear the airbag fault.

Were you using the V5 software?
The Airbag light will only stay cleared if you resolve the issue though.

Best approach is to find someone in your area who has a Durametric and is willing to loan it (and possibly lose a VIN, depending on the Durametric model).

If you're in an area with few qualified Porsche shops - dealer or independent -, just buy one - new or used. It will pay for itself many times over.

I used the software that came with it, and also tried the newest download and both did not work.
I'm not in an area with qualified Porsche shops, and just need one for this one little item. It's not worth the money to me to buy one.
thanks,

Thanks!
