Help car will not start

Car turns over no prob. But it feels like its getting no spark or gas any thoughts on where I should look before calling aaa? Not an ideal situation as I'm about 100 miles from home!

Check for fuel pump operation. Take off the gas cap and listen at the filler neck while someone turns the key to the "ON" position. Do not turn it to the start position. You should hear a whirring noise coming from the fuel tank. No sound means no fuel. Check the fuel pump relay and fuse if no whirring is heard.

Ended up having it towed. Working on it in a hotel parking lot would be really less than ideal! Im thinking either fuel pump or ignition switch. My daughters mini did the same thing and it was the ignition switch.
