In the Philippines, you only get to buy a personalized plate when the car is first registered. After that, the 3 letters-3 numbers format gets carried by the car for the rest of its life!
I was lucky to get the car with the plate BD_ 986! . I don't think the letters stand for anything though.
I get plenty unwanted Porsche envy already without fanning the flames with clever messages.
I do spring for the CA plate with the beach scene @ $40 extra annually.
mine is EYW 986 EYW is the airport code for the city I live in and of course we know what 986 is.
My 944 was CAPTBONZ, Capt because I'm a boat captain and BONZ because I've had the nickname "Bonez" for most of my life
My 911 was 79 911 That was because that is what it was LOL (I could not believe that that plate was available) I don't have the car any more but the plate is on my wall.
Kids gave it to me last year, kept it on the car for a year and did not renew it. Thought it was funny and all, just not a personalized plate kind of guy......
