Fitting some new wheels

So JD is going to smack me for posting another wheel offset thread, but I want to validate my thoughts on some SSR GT3 wheels that I'm considering.

Here's the breakdown:
  • 18X8 ET49
  • 18X10 ET62

Seems like the fronts will fit great with no spacers - Bosxtaboy has those fronts. It sounds like rears would need maybe 15 mm spacers.

The wheels are available with tires, which are the following sizes:
  • 235/40/18
  • 265/40/18

Can anyone comment on these wheels/offsets/tire sizes on the stock suspension? I'm especially unsure on the tires.

Thanks in advance!

Wheels & Tires should be fine on stock suspension providing your Boxster is 1998+ (reinforced chassis for 18+ wheels) You would need spacers in the rear, 15mm would be a good choice.

Disregard if you have 98+ Boxster

"TSB #4407, dated March 4, 1997: " Eighteen inch wheels are not approved for use on Boxsters. Use of eighteen inch wheels on Boxsters under severe conditions may result in structural failures of the body and/or suspension"

It's only when someone raises the issue of 11 inch wheels, does my jumpsuit get in a frazzle. Anyway, the fronts will fit ok, but +49 with an 8 inch wheel may or may not give you the aggressive stance that you're looking for. The rear offset is definitely way too high. Your thoughts about using a 15mm spacer are on target. As far as the tires are concerned. IMO, 235/275 would provide a better balance than 235/265. Regardless, the aspect ratio on the rear tires is off. It should be 35 not 40.
