Yea or nay on the abbreviated stripe for the Dangermobile ?

I like it a lot! Just showed my son (he's 12) his response.."wow..dad you make your car look like that!"

I've never really liked graphics on a high end car like a Porsche. Clean is better.

No stripes or text- your car needs nothing. If you're bored go get a puppy....but leave the car alone.

NAY! It's not a spyder slapping spyder decals on it is akin to putting RSR or GT3 on it, it's the same idea, a pose, cards in the spokes. As it sits now it is a very cool "one off" of your own vision, design and brought to fruition by you. I believe it stands alone on it's own merits better in that mindset. Then again, I know nothing and remain banished, you want stripes put em on, frankly I could live without them and they are supposed to be on my car.

Yea...put the same decal on mine and I can't stop looking at it. Even feels faster now...;)

The picture is reversed because it was necessary when I photoshopped it ;)

JD: as much as you've been toying with this idea, I'd say that you're fairly set on it. Just go for it! Its vinyl and can always be removed :)

My opinion is no to the stripe. Adding that to the Dangermobile would be like walking around with a nametag on your left side, "Hi, my name is Danger. Johnny Danger."

If you want an accent on the side, maybe a double pin strip from front radiator air intake along the "hip" to the tail lights.

On new Boxsters it's right above Boxster on the trunk....And in the rear glass windows.

Hood emblem, steering wheel, stereo, intake manifolds...could go on, but I won't. ;)

I counted them one day when I had nothing better to do. I think I stopped counting at 15. Floor mats, wheel centres, brake calipers. Radio logo when it comes on. Yeah - I've got spare time on my hands.

Red wheels with yellow.....It would be the ultimate Ronald McDonald mobile LOL! You could change your user name to Big Mac :D

JD, your car looks awesome! It doesn't need anything. In my opinion, the aesthetic (tasteful) modes that you have done exudes Porsche. It doesn't need the lettering down the side to convince anyone. Clean is the key to a classy car. my 2 cents

I like the stripe but it is a common addition and your car is far from common. Here is another interpretation IMO adds flare but does not take away from all the work you have done...going with the less is more:

I would also do this treatment to the indention for the third light in the trunk.

Danger's car is hardly minimalist. Thus I'm not sure trying to keep it 'clean' really matters.

No, mang, hell no. That is like when you go see a band, and they are wearing shirts with the name of the band they are in. Spinners and a lift kit would rock though.

I like it, but the truth is it's what you like that matters. If you want it do it!

JD one last thing - the picture at the start of this thread seems to show that you have made a very sensible mod to the Dangermobile... looks like you have moved the steering wheel to the right hand side of the cockpit.

Now you will start to feel the extra horses that UK driving stylee brings.

I like the stripe. At first I was opposed to the idea (that hood stripe was heinous), but I think this one really adds some nice detail to the car. In fact, now when I look at the pic without the stripe, it looks kinda bland. The full length spyder stripe was too much, but this narrower 3/4 length stripe really fits the car.

If you really want red wheels you could just get three more spares and put those on. :D

I say no to the stripe. for some reason, I only like the stripe on the white cars w/o ground effects.

nay--- too busy with all the scoops and such. Looks better on Particlewave's car because it's cleaner. The hardest thing about good design is deciding what stands in the shadow,thereby allowing something else to take center stage---the eye can only take in so much at once . I've observed that the younger one is, the more distraction they're comfortable with. As we age, we grow to appreciate the 'clean, timeless' lines (less distraction). I guess it comes down to how old and sophisticated you are!:p

I actually like it JD. I think that it is clean and simple and grounds the look of the car. Not a fan of the hood stripe and I would keep the wheels black. It's a beautiful car and the logo on the bottom does not take anything away from the look. If you like it, you need to do it:cheers:

I've been flipping back and forth on this one...the stripe does look cool but my Chinese cook Confucius say "less is more" ...if you walk into a room and see five paintings on the wall the eye is not drawn to any of them but if there is only one painting on the wall the eye is immediately drawn to it. JD...your Danger Mobile is that one painting on the wall the way it looks now. IMO it's poetry in motion and you don't have to do anything else to it. I was all set to say Nay, but then went to the first post to see it and actually it looks great. It does tie together the wheels and mirrors and being finished off at the door edge makes it look "right". I am not a fan of the one that goes from wheel well to wheel well.

You can go with vinyl stuff to keep it interesting; however, all that money spent is now attached to my beer refrigerator in the garage now... :cheers:
