If you don't like it you can just peel it off. I think if you did the mirrors too it would balance out nicely.
I was thinking of doing the clamshell and the backs and sides of my GT3 seats. I did a vinyl wrap of a kitchen counter top in a faux granite so I could probably give it a shot. All you need is a heat gun, one of those xacto type blades from Lowe's, some rubbery squeege tools and lots of time.
Cool video. But, I'd be willing to bet that trying to wrap a vent with strakes would be near impossible.

They might have to remove the bumper, maybe, but those guys have methods for every type duct, inlet and opening.
I'm guessing to make it simple they would cut one piece for the rectangular perimeter, leaving the slats exposed. Then they would wrap each slat with an individually measured piece and heat shrink it with some silicon adhesive drops, and then finish by covering the perimeter area to "frame it".
