Moral of the story; never loan out your car!

Hubby loaned his last Carrera to someone and they bottomed it out when coming up the little slope at the bottom of the driveway.

Then there's the valet who put 80+ miles on it when we were eating dinner. It never did shift right after that.

I hit the wrong gear in a downshift in the Boxster once. Im blanking on the exact RPM, but the ECU shows a few revs in Stage 5 (out of 6). I think it was close to 9,000 RPM.

That was in 2009 and about 35-40K miles ago.

9,000 rpm should be enough to stretch the rod bolts!

RandallNeighbour & Chief: Wow, I didn't even put that together, yes it probably was exactly like that scene from Ferris Bueller. We always self-park now, no need to impress anyone when your synchromesh is on the line.
