I love it. Porsche is one of the few great independent car companies (and arguably the last). It's a great logo with great heritage. Plus I don't know about the rest of you, but when I look at the steering wheel and see that logo, I get goosebumps nearly every time.

Because I shelled out that amount of clams for the car, hell yes I want the logo all over the car. I think it should have come with a free forehead tattoo!

I would venture to say that most people don't have a "clue" as to the Porsche logo. If the logo was not actually on the product (the car) they would not make the association to a Porsche.
I personally decided to "model designation delete" on my 987S for that extra sense of autonomy.

I don't care for the Boxster script on the trunk. The rest seems fine by me.

I like the Porsche crest on the hood and wheels and the Boxster on the rear. Like you, when I pay for an automobile I expect there to be no "ads" for the dealer all over it in the form of decals, plate covers or front plate. If they were good enough, people will hear about it from me.
My personal taste is toward the subtle side. I like the color crests on the Boxster because it's so bright making the accents pretty subtle by comparison. On the 928 I like the silver hood crest and unpainted wheel centers so they don't stand out so much against the silver color. That would be the same if I ever get a silver Boxster.

Because it's been a life long dream to own one, I like the logo plastered everywhere, but I don't like the trunk badge as mine is old and without it, the untrained eye may think it's an S or a younger model, so I left it off.

I see what you are talking about. I think there are a lot of logos on the car, and I took my Boxster logo off the rear trunk (though party because of the practicality for cleaning). I also feel like I bought the car for ME, and the only thing that matters is my driving pleasure, so I'm not interested in showing off all the logos to any onlookers. Of course I want the car to look GOOD too! So it does matter to some degree.
But the part that really amazes me is the souvenirs catalog. Dozens of shirts, jackets, hats, keyrings, model cars, etc. I guess there is a place for all that, and good for Porsche for marketing a successful name, but I just don't see myself wearing a Porsche crest polo shirt to work. Now if I was going to a race, YES I would love to support my team!

I think the porsche name and logo is one of the most valuable intangible asset the company has...For example, why would buyers shell out $10,000 or more buying a cayenne v6 over a vw touareg, which is essentially the same suv? The VW has better interior and drives about the same but you won't get much attention from the girls or your neighbors. On the other hand, when ppl see the sttugart logo, the woohoo factor emerges. If I shell out that much for a porsche, not only i want the heritage and the performance, but also the recognition and the attention. So yes, i want the porsche name/logo all over the car...

i even put small porsche logo decals next to my stainless door sills , just in case they missed the hood emblem, wind deflector, or my steering wheel.
