Hi,

I'm 52. The Mid-Life Crisis is such a cliche'. The thing that bugs me is that as my hair has grayed, and my equator slightly expanded, I drive my Boxster or Esprit and I see the occaisional looks of younger people, usually women, and can just tell they think I'm mid-lifing. They think I'm driving the sporty car to compensate.

But, they don't realize I've owned and been driving these type of Cars since I was 18 (one of which I still own) - a 34 year long Mid-Life Crisis, OK, I guess that may deserve a look or two...

Happy Motoring!... Jim'99

Yes indeed. "Midlife crisis" is such a misused phrase. There is no crisis, but I am midlife. No, I wasn't able to raise children and have a 2 seater. If that generates a crisis (becoming an "empty-nester) than call 911 is my response!

I tried the 924 with kids, it was a royal pain in the arse. My wife actually emailed me at work with the following:"Honey, why don't you make VW eat the (POS) Touareg and buy yourself a Porsche like you've always wanted? It would be nice to do it before one of us retired!!"

I called the dealership that day and the rest....is history!

Some college guys sitting outside a house yelled "midlife crisis" as I was driving by about a year ago....for God sakes I'm only 25 now. I guess I'm in my golden years. The stereotype is out there but I think it stems from envy.

I was having a mid-life crisis. I am 32. My crisis finally ended after I got my Boxster after wanting one for the past 10 years. I really don't see a Porsche as mid-life crisis cars. Honestly, I usually reserve those opinions for Corvette and 350z drivers . I intend on having a few more mid-life crisis as the performance goes up and up throughout the years. This is just my first Porsche and I am not stopping now.

Guys, it's only a midlife crisis when you have a bubbleheaded bleached blonde 18 yearold sitting next to you!

Hey yeah, good idea.

My whole life has been a midlife crisis. People say "mid life crisis" like it's some kinda bad thing. Like a mental imperfection. Meanwhile we are living life while everyone else goes through the motions conforming to the norm. Safe and secure. And boring. Insatiable is right, you're a long time dead so live hard and fast. In 80 years none of this will matter anyway. So we could stay home and tend to our lawns and gardens or get out on the road to see wottle she do.
