Cracked Rim - What To Do?

So I cracked one of my Rims today and I am not sure if it's best to have it repaired or buy a new one?

Well, the best path is to replace it but if the damage is not severe, a properly performed repair is perfectly fine.

With that being said, it might not cost much more to replace the rim than to repair it.

I vote for replace. Do you want to take a chance with your life (or others) when doing some hard cornering or driving at high speed ? Replace it.

Rims can be found pretty cheap for Boxsters, replace.

I've been checking prices online and it looks like the cost of repairing the rim is pretty much the same as buying a new one I feel a lot safer with a new one after losing control on the motorway today luckily I was in the slow lane and was able to regain control and move her over to the side of the road I can only imagine what would have happened if I was in the fast lane.

another thing to keep in mind if you have larger wheels, an 18" tire for these cars can cost more than a typical 18" wheel. A repaired cracked wheel that shouldn't have been repaired can crack again end up destroying the tire. $450 down the tube.

I bent one of my 18inch turbo twists II from a pothole. While it wasn't cracked, I sent it to get repaired for $125. They refinished the whole thing and powder coated it, and I was in disbelief as it looked like they had given me a new wheel by mistake! I am here four months later and no problems to boot.

The powder coat was spot on, I spoke to the guy who did it and in the industry it's called "Hyper silver". It's new and matches, but looks cleaner than the rest.
