Wouldn't surprise me if they are releasing a new lower end model.

Yep, it's no rumor... Prices are going up. Buy one now before they are $200K.

Really? You have to go political? Last time I checked in the eyes of the 99% Porsche ownership was for the privileged. Probably should sell yours and buy a Prius, cause isn't that what all the Libs want? (last sentence was sarcasm and vast stereo type)

:troll: Porsche is actually unfortunately anything but out of touch- they are trying to establish a new base of consumers by coming out with Panameras and Cayennes much to the dismay of the automotive world. The only thing you could say they are out of touch is their original heritage of making cars, just pure sports cars.:ah:

Mine doesn't have electric steering, it doesn't shut it's engine off to save fuel and it was the lightest Porsche sold at the time it was manufactured, Pre VW. Given this pricing news and the current pre owned Spyder listings, I feel lucky to have found it when I did.

+1 you hit the nail on the head, that's exactly right. BMWs doing the exact same thing, bigger, heavier cars with more electronics.

Will make the older Boxsters all the better of a value. The extra $20K will probably be in electronic assists, fancy trimmed cup holders and all the other things no one is asking for at the local autocross and track event.

Given the steep depreciation rate of new Porsches you're money would be better spent buying an air-cooled Porsche whose prices just keep going up and up. Can't blame Porsche though, with Cayenne, Panamera and the direction of the Carrera (longer than a Corvette, electronic steering, overly appointed interior) they're going after the Chinese billionaire and Rap Music/Sports/Celebrity crowd who never look at the sticker price or participate in high performance driving instruction.
Porsche is morphing from the Steve McQueen brand into the next luxury brand like Jaguar/Mercedes and Bentley.
