Sean, changed it at 28,500 due to it being 11 years old vs symptoms or mileage. Used Porsche trans oil which was > $40 a liter so it is spendy, for 3L ~$130, but amortized over that much time not too big of a deal. Shifts well, not sure there is any difference from before the change, but I have more piece of mind.
Good call on the oil. Other are definitely problematic if you are in cold weather areas.

Garage
Great post and just in time too. I'm doing this project while Udo is laid up for the winter as well as installing a GBox 2nd gear detent, oil change and a brake fluid flush. Service records I have don't show Brake fluid replacement, so I figure it's high time.

I'm only at 83,000 km, but trans oil is 12 years old and I need to undress the bottom of the car to swap the detent, so trans fluid's getting done "while I'm in there".

Nothing like bonding and busting knuckles while the ride's in storage.

BTW, I got the Porsche trans fluid for $28.90/liter and Super Blue for under $18/liter from Suncoast Porsche in FL. Bought from them before, great to deal with.
