I know a Boxster owner who installed a yellow tach in the center, and kept the other dials black, like how Ferrari does it. Looked kinda cool.

Hey Boxstaboy, I like your knobs and eject button. We're did you find them? Thanks.

EJECT BUTTON!!! 12-volt / Lighter Insert Aluminum Faux Ejection Seat Button Red Eject Button****-****Mitsubishi 3000GT****/****Dodge Stealth Parts The knobs are from the Becker radio that is factory installed in the Chrysler Crossfire. I was tired of the cheap looking black knobs, and while I don't own a Crossfire, it looked like they would fit our radio, and it does. You can get them from Beckeraudio on EBay. Just search for Becker radio knobs and it should pop up. If you paint your current knobs, you should try to use flexible paint or it'll crack. These knobs, you can squeeze em without worry of the paint cracking, and they look better than the black stock ones. http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...psh4zvs0rd.jpg |
Picked up some more jack stands. Gonna put the car in the air tonight, and store the tires in my basement for the winter.
I need to bring one of the tires back to the shop, as it has a slow leak. |

Drove mine down the Hume highway which is a popular drive out here in Australia only for a MASSIVE kangaroo to come out and kamikaze it's self into the side of my car causing extensive damage and a nice $850 AUD insurance excess fee.

I try and not drive my box at night because of the deer. It seems like when I do drive at night, they're always on the side of the road just waiting to jump out on me.

I was lucky, no impacts with other cars or curbs....don't ever want to have that helpless feeling again. :o |
We had a few inches of snow on Saturday. Yesterday I took my Boxster out to drop it off for the repair of my fender bender earlier this week. Our cul-de-sac still had packed snow on it but the rest of the streets were all clear. Going easy on summer tires to the end of our street was slippery!

Worked on replacing my variocam tensioner, pads and chains in bank one this weekend. It is so tight but doable. Unfortunately despite being what I thought was very careful I was betrayed by my torque wrench in a tight spot and broke a bolt. I did manage to get the tensioner and cams out, new tensioner and pads and chain reassembled and installed before the mishap. A minor setback but I will see this project thru.

Traded my gold hood badge for silver.

Went out to my garage to find that thieves had broken in and had stolen my big floor jack and the indoor cover for my Boxster. They must have been in a hurry because they left my outdoor cover (the one I bought from Boxtaboy) and my Porsche car charger, which was hooked up to my car.
I was planning to sell the indoor cover but losing that jack hurts. I bought it specifically to use with the Boxster (it was super low and had a really long reach). (I really loved that jack)... I'm in a gated community, and they apparently did this today sometime between 9am and 2pm. Looks like they used a crowbar to rip the key access out of the wall and then jumped the wires to open the garage. They also did this to 4 other units. Oh well, at least they didn't steal my car! Drove it to PCNA HQ tonight, did demo laps, and then had an awesome buffet dinner with other PeachState PCA members at PCNA's 356 restaurant. So, I guess, despite the theft, today was a win. |

Wheels; The wheels look very nice. Excellent job. I really like the red decals under the intake vent. Never seen that done quite like that before.
Gated Community Theft; I would be asking for a refund on those HOA fees. Any tweaker neighbor kids about? |

Thanks Boxtaboy!
Turns out our maintenance supervisor ran into the thieves and made them leave the property when they couldn't explain why they were here. No one knew at that time that they had already burglarized all the garages (they had moved on to another area in the community). But he got their license plate number (Home Depot rental truck) and we have them on video entering and leaving through the main gates. Police are hopeful that they can track them down and prevent this from happening to someone else... Yeah, really glad they took the indoor cover and not the outdoor cover I got from you! The indoor cover was a prototype I bought from a local club member who works for Kimberly Clark - it was a really nice 4 layer one but it wasn't waterproof (just dust proof). It was really thick and took up about twice the space of the external cover. Oh well... |
Mounted the hardtop I picked up over the weekend from a local seller. Picked up the spinlocks and shoulder bolts from Woody (Thanks Woody!).
Of course it rained today, but no water leaks noted. Going to let the top "settle" for awhile before making final adjustments. http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1484349481.jpg http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1484349532.jpg TO |

I'm a die hard Giants fan, so the Dallas/Green Bay game is immaterial to me. Looking forward to a New England/Atlanta Super Bowl. Just sayin'............. TO |

986 custom backrest cover
Just finished this fiberglass piece(don't really know what to call it) to cover the boring carpet between the seats, I also made an armrest cover that snaps over the leather cover. Let me know what you think?
