I hit 91k miles, made my 2000th post here on the 986 forum, and decided that enough is enough :)

I hope that I left you all with some decent info and fun projects! I'm going to hang out with JD in the nether.
Good luck and God bless.

Be kind to each other :)

Drains

I removed all the plastic panels including the wipers and cowl ....cleaned out all the drains and flushed with water. Lubricated the wiper pivots.

This is a surprising announcement. Good luck in your future endeavors.

that's bananas. selling the car or just divesting yourself of the forum? gonna be missed - you were a benefit to the community. perhaps drop by from time to time, esp if you see JD floating around out there in the n-ether.

Me thinks he wants to preserve his post count at 2000.

Washes, waxed, detailed the interior, ,then took it to Toronto for the NIN concert. We didn't see any other boxsters on the way. Rode along the 190 with an adriatic blue speedster (I'm still drooling), and saw several carerras in Canada. The trip up the QEW with the top down was a real thrill.

The ride back in the rain wasn't as much fun, but the new top was fantastic.

Well, I didn't do it, but had wonderful sounding audio equipment installed.

Washed, quick waxed and detailed the car. Used the leaf blower method for the first time. Had to dry it 2-3 times but finally got it dry. The blower worked really well on the rims so when I took her for a quick spin to clean the rust off the rotors the inner rims were still clean when I got back (for the first time!).

I replaced the electric portion of the key switch and the clutch interlock switch. It wasn't too bad.

Our 2000 base Boxster wouldn't fire up when the key was turned. It made no noise at all. I had to try and start the car numerous times before the car would start.

Now it starts every time.

A Lot

Seats are out, cleaned all the carpet. Re-dying the carpet...done now re cleaned the carpet with a PH Neutral weak cleaner mixed with a little fabric softener to make it soft again. Seats are being refinished, filler done and three coats of new OEM matched Dye and awaiting the final coat. My new red "S" came in and I removed the old silver "S" and waxed off 98% of the old one but I can still see a faint outline. Tomorrow I get to put the thing back together....Hopefully

PS also running a 4 conductor cable from the front to the back for a future rear speaker modification.

A very busy 2 days

Just ran across this and it's kind of sudden. I'm hoping you stop in from time. We already need you to design and build a modified blinker relay that blinks 3 times when pulsed. What a cool project...

Autocrossed in the rain...

but it never rains in San Diego

Easiest job in the world:

Weather Forecaster in San Diego
You could be locked in a windowless closet and do your forecast:
72 degrees and sunny sky's and be correct 85% of the time

washed her/ getting ready for a little road trip up island. After washing her I decided to de snorkel her. that side vent is a bit of a ******************** to get off and back on and the little screen was a tad annoying but had it finished in 15 minutes
