'Braved' the light drizzle and drove to work. Enjoyed the LED upgrade in the headlights. :)

The B&M instructions are pretty good too:

These two are the best in my opinion.

Of course there are these:
Porsche Boxster Short Shift Kit (SSK) Installation and Shift Bushing Replacement - 986 / 987 (1997-08) - Pelican Parts Technical Article

All are pretty good, once you get in there it all makes sense.

For me the most fiddly part was getting the retaining clips off of the shifter cables so I could remove the old shifter base and put down the new shifter base.

Thanks - This will be helpful.

I like it.

Replaced the water pump, belt and thermostat in my Box and a fresh fill of coolant. I went with the composite pump from Laso (oem) and the LN 70 degrees thermostat. Fairly easy job.

Belt was in a fairly bad state and the pumps impellers were fine but it was leaking and found there was play in the bearings.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9bebe178c6.jpg

What did you do with/to your Boxster today?

Attention Ontario Guys:

Found some great new roads about 30 minutes north of where I live (Orangeville, Ontario).

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d459b9d269.jpg

That's literally a good sign...
(Need to fix my clamshell)

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...7fc3977804.jpg

This portion is on River Road, pointing westward toward Hornings Mills.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...8a678cbc0e.jpg

River Road, pointing eastward toward Terra Nova.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f212ac25bd.jpg

Second Line E, pointing southward.

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...abba47d61d.jpg

Map shows the loop. Start at Highways 89 & 19, head north on Prince of Wales Road (19) until it reaches River Road. Turn right, and drive along until entering Terra Nova. Turn right onto Second Line E and head south until you reach 10 Sideroad. Turn right and continue west until you reach Prince of Wales Road. Turn left and head south and head back toward highways 89 & 19. Stop at Champ Burger for a bite (it's better than Super Burger on the other side). This route beats the heck out of Forks of the Credit and Hockley Valley Road (both also near me). You can thank me later.

I swapped my side vents for 03-04 style vents from Woody. I like the contrast of the seal grey against my ocean blue metallic.

Woody is a class act! Thanks Woody!http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1502196985.jpg

Thanks! It looks good. I'm a fan of contrasting side vents. Specially with the 03/04 vents

I avoided being sideswiped at ~40 mph. Thanks, Porsche brakes!

JBauer 08-11-2017 05:30 PM

Gave up on some of the leather.

Well my leather covered roll bar covers and dash horseshoe just wasn't working. The leather and trim adhesive interfered with the buttons and just couldn't get the leather to look fight on the covers. Tore off the leather, painted the covers. Did paint my shifter insert tho 😀 http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02...1502501397.jpg

Thats a good idea

I changed my manual transmission just after I got my boxster 3 years ago, I wish I had done this then. That aluminum brace/shield can be a bear.

Oil change. And new brake lights.

Hardtop off and ready for sophomore year at university!

PCA NER AX again today. Now I am pretty much in the middle of the Boxster/Cayman pack. New rubber should improve my performance next time.

A 500 mile road trip over 2 days to MIS in Brooklyn, MI to do my almost-annual NASCAR trip. Got to say, a Boxster looks a bit out of place in a place like that!
A tradition my brother and I started. When he died unexpectedly, my son and I continued.

JBauer 08-15-2017 07:54 PM

Gauge trim

Installed OBC stalk and harness.

BIGJake111 08-18-2017 07:06 PM

Some frat guys on their mopeds wanted to race. They were actually pretty respectful and cool though and asked questions about the car and got me to rev it. Pull away slow for them all to "beat me" then blast through the rest of first and second lol.

We all laughed about it at the next light we're I returned to driving normal.

Getting ready for a trip I treated (actually my indy shop) my 2001 Boxster S to a New Clutch, Pres Plate, DM flywheel, new FW bolts, new PP bolts, new rear main seal, new clutch slave cylinder, new release lever & components, some encapsulated crankcase bolts. I have all the used parts and it looks like it was just in time. Had just a slight witness on the clutch plate rivets. IMS was checked an had been done professionally. Now my turn indicators went out! :) My Boxster S has 74K on it. I am 2nd owner.
