Spray painted (very light ) the carpet engine cover and back piece where it was faded only. Bit of a smell for a day but all good now.

Pictures please, or it never happened!

What kind of Paint did you use? Carpet dye?

The drone you hear is likely from your tires - the tread probably got deformed on the track. I had this happen after a track day - my nice new Supersports sound like offroad truck tires!

This weekend drove a 2000 base carrera cab. Gotta say I wasn't impressed. Not much more power than my 03s from what I could tell. And the box feels so much more planted. Maybe it was just the 911 I drove.

Yesterday I avoided a speeding ticket. Due to the wonderful visibility with the top down, I was able to catch a glimpse of the motorcycle cop lurking at the bottom of a hill on a side street. The car next to me was not so fortunate.

So put my 2001 green Box in for a clutch replacement. It also needed flywheel, CV joints all around and I figured do the IMS also.
About $5500 total. I pick it up tomorrow
Looking forward to see how smooth it runs

Went for a drive yesterday afternoon to a small town north of home for a hot dog at a drive in called the Half Moon and found this beauty pulling into the lot along side me.

The owner and I had a short chat, me admiring his classic and he my future classic!

As an added bonus, on my way back I saw another Boxster coming the other way. Rare day to see Porsches on the back roads north of Winnipeg in the middle of the week.

Great, Paul. I had a similar experience early this week with the original owner of a beautiful 57 356A. He bought it for his honeymoon car for $2,700 and still drives it with his bride today. He also complimented me on the condition and future collectibility of my 986 (but probably just being nice).

I've been up to Winnipeg several times, but always when there was snow. The last time, a couple weeks ago, the weather was nicer and I saw a good number of Porsches out playing. Nice to see.

We have been having exceptional weather the last couple of weeks. 27C to low 32C, (85 to 90 F) very dry and brilliant sun. This is more like late July than early June.

Cleaned it up a bit with Optimum Opti-Clean waterless carwash.

I picked up my '02 from the shop today after they replaced the clutch, flywheel, RMS, and a LN IMS bearing. The clutch was down to the rivets, so it was definitely time!

They are on the car now but fixing the burnt lenses is low on the priority list until I get the spring/summer stuff done around the property.
I had a loose weld inside the stock muffler that was starting to be embarrassing when I get on the gas. Problem solved.
