Replacement Shifter Boot And Knob On Pelican Parts?

I have a 1997 Boxster and would like to replace the shift knob and boot, but can't locate them on the Pelican site. Anyone know what category they would fall under?

Transmission Clutch section. PelicanParts.com - Porsche Boxster (1997-04) - Transmission & Clutch
I don't see the OEM shifter
I looked for one also. Not cheap $250 for used from dismantlers

I looked in that section, can't seem to find the actual shifter boot part on any of those pages.

Looks like only the factory shift knob is available, and the only option for the boot is aftermarket, guess that's why I couldn't find the stock boot on their site. Guess I'll look around online for some nice looking aftermarket parts. Anyone replaced theirs with something they liked and want to share?

I picked up a shift knob and boot from an '03 for $100 shipped a while back, in like-new condition, from ebay. Deals like that don't come along every day, but they do show up from time to time if you're patient. I love the thrill of the ebay hunt for rare treasures!

I actually got one, leather, brand new for $4 or so on ebay a few years ago. I think I still have a black one I had custom made, PM if you want.

Momo has some great looking ones, keep in mind that you will need to round off the shifter to fit a knob other than OEM to it, not hard at all with either a dremmel or grinder bit on a drill.

This is probably one of the best looking factory 5-spd shifters ... but it's 3 benjamins.

Hi Jay!..no, unfortunately, you have to buy the horse shoe trim ring separately. It's like $400+ if you get it with the upgraded shift knob. I got mine for $100 I think...several years ago from a European Porsche accessory seller who sold the OEM boot and knobs separately. Then I had to get the knob.

Nothing planned for the fall yet, but maybe I'll host a mini gathering at my house for our close knit group. cheers to ya and the fam.

You can get a sleeve to slide over the shifter with a set screw to accept round knobs and avoid doing this. There are some really nice ones at Suncoast but they are very proud of them. CF or root wood etc is around 400-500 bucks last I checked. Sunset is probably cheaper if you want to stick with factory shift knobs, unless you can find one on Ebay and they do come up. I got a root wood one for 100 bucks with some wear, but not worn out.

Sometimes you've just got to enter the part number in to the Pelican search engine: 986.424.075.06

Pelican Parts - Product Information: OEM-98642407506EAN

Or, save $15 and get it from Suncoast.

Shift Knob, Stock Replacement:Porsche Parts & Porsche Accessories - Wholesale Porsche Parts & Tequipment - Cayman Panamera Cayenn

However, with as much help as you get from Pelican's sites, $15 isn't much more money to show appreciation for the site owners.
