WTB Scavenger Pump Driver for 986 MY 97-2004

Part Number 996 105 185 54 no longer available Fits 986 - MY 97-2004

I was re-installing the IMS chain sprocket to the exhaust camshaft and noticed a crack in camshaft scavenger pump driver . Using my fingers I pressed it out and it split in two. I'm looking for a replacement and can't locate one. Any ideas?

I have a couple boxes of parts from a 2001 2.7L engine. Here's what it has instead:

It looks like those clever engineers figured out that it was better to make it all one piece with the sprocket.

A search showed that the old number was superseded:

Further investigation showed that it was changed in 1998 from two pieces to one. The way I read it, the later (one piece) part can be used on all 986 models:

Here's another illustration from a part number search:

I'd recommend a call to a SMART parts counter guy at a dealership to make sure you can use the new sprocket, but I'm pretty sure you can. Forum member "JFP in PA" can probably tell you the answer if you get his attention. If you want the sprocket that I pictured above, just send me a message.

I might be able to help you out. I just replaced my 2.5L and have been taking the old motor apart for the heck of it. If interested, let me know and I will see if I can pull them off for you.

With that said, if anyone else needs any 2.5 internal parts or pieces, let me know. Looking to get the paperweight out of my yard soon.
