Update: I picked up a K&N RC-4690 - it's a little longer than the filter supplied with the EvoMS intake, but it fits in the air box and clamps onto the intake pipe. It's also $40-50 cheaper than the original filter.

My Corvette doesn't leak oil... it sweats horsepower.

I have the evolution motorsports air intake. I need to clean it. So question is oil or not?

I contacted EvoMS regarding this issue a couple of years ago - the filter for the 986 gets oiled. Oddly, the 987 filter does not.

Strange. I called them today asking about the replacement filter and asked and it was almost as if the guy didn't know. Yeah, pretty sure it gets oiled... When I look at mine...it looks just like the pic online. Blue in color...not red as if soaked by some type of kandn oil. Are there other oils?

I use the K&N cleaning/oil kit. It's important to let the filter thoroughly dry before putting a light mist of oil on it. Also, if you scroll down this thread a bit, you'll see my post from almost 2 years ago confirming this issue with EvoMS. The person to speak with is Ian.
