03-04 side vents

I would like to swap in 03 or 04 side vents on my 00. I just want to put in the exterior grill piece that one sees on the outside of the car.

Are there any fittment problems or additional hardware needed? Let me know if you have any for sale! They look like these:

I did replace my '02 with '03/4 vents. Exact fit, no problems. I did wrap the back with 1/4" hardware cloth to keep out the cigarette butts etc. I bought them used from one of the recycle houses and had them painted.

Why not just paint your existing vent slats?

Mr. Danger

Yes an excellent high flow option. I had forgotten I had seen these on your car. I trust the source's name is embedded.

I was trying to stay stock and still get some air....

Mr. Allen K.

This is exactly what I was planning. I trust that it is just the one outer body piece that I need (wedges; gaskets?). Perhaps you have the part number the/my PET (what the heck does that stand for?) is rather vague. Thanks for the picture

Sorry I don't have a part # but perhaps another member does? I purchased these from a dismantler in LA. There are others out there so I would ask around. I just stated that I wanted both the vent covers from an '03 or '04 986. Ask for them in your color otherwise if they don't you will have to have them repainted. Also they are a bit more open than the '99 to '02 vents so you do get a bit more air.

The turbo style intakes can be sourced from a seller on eBay. They're oem quality parts that are made from polyurethane . If anyone is interested in purchasing a set, I would suggest haggling with them . In the past, I had them down to $230 shipped to the USA.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

Yes I am after more air! I keep getting told by vendors that I need additional hardware/parts to make this work. It may be that the parts catalog is confusing the issue.....so just the covers and and they snap in and get retained by the same top Philips screw??

Just have to ask again as various sellers think I am out of my tree

JayKay, where did you get the 550 Spyder taillights and how much did they cost? Exact swap for the stock ones? Thanks!

Yes they are the same except for where the strakes are placed. NO problem with the fit. I only use the phillips screw to hold them in place. Just be sure the two bottom tabs are in place first before tightening down. Send some pics once you have them in place.
