Pwr memory seats and key fob?? Tech assist needed..

Does anyone know how to keep the power memory seats from moving when you dis-alarm the car?

This is annoying as when I unlock the car via the key fob button, the drivers seat automatically goes all the way back against the roll bar...

What happens if you press the 1 or 2 memory seat locations (3 if it's an addl remote added to system)? Does it go to that spot as well? If so, memory spot associated w/ your fob is set there. Easy solution: reprogram corresponding memory location(s) for fob and it will return to that spot upon unlock.

I don't think '01 Boxster has an 'easy exit' Lexus-like feature. If it does, will require Porsche (PIWIS or PST2, et al) software to change personal settings. Durametric might be able to also but don't know for sure. Dealer or well equipped indy will have Porsche software needed to change.

Good luck

burg is right. the previous owner set the seats memory location and associated it with the key.

to reset it: (from the owner's manual):
1. switch the ignition on with the desired key
2. set the desired seat, lumbar and door-mirror positions. if you wish to have the passenger's mirror swivel down as a parking aid when reversing, reverse gear must be engaged when the seat position is stored.
3. keep memory button M depressed and press the central locking button on the remote control within 5 seconds. the individual setting is now assigned to this remote control.

to completely clear the settings:
1. switch the ignition on with the desired key
2. simultaneously press and hold buttons 1 and 3 for at least 5 seconds.
