The price we pay for the shop would not be relevant (we get it in larger containers), but retail is in the $20 per quart range.

I used Red Line 75W90NS at $12.50 a pint (used 3) and it works very well. My parts guy at the Porsche department was going to sell me factory at twice that I think. If you have the cash I agree with JFP use the factory stuff. I've heard many folks say it is the best. I have not had any issues at all with the Red Line and it shifts great. Took about 300 miles to smooth out the shifting.

On your 'Cold starts" what is the temp, I know before I changed mine it was very hard to shift below 50 degrees out...once the car warmed up it was ok though.

I used the same Red Line in both of my Boxsters. It is a full synthetic. Works just fine in the Base 5 speed and S 6 speed. Paid $11.50 per quart. Bought 6 quarts. It is a GL4 product as Porsche requires.

They have it at suncoast (****************************************************.com) for $29 for what looks like a quart
