the shipping weight on my motor on a palet was 400. If this helps any. The tranny (manual) I can lift my self no problems at about 75-90 lbs i'd say.

Thanks for the info. And yes certainly I want to make your car electric if you want it converted. What you went to my website? I'm just planning now, I acquired a '97 without engine or trans, the prices of these cars now allows the rift-raft to afford them.

Could you elaborate on where your number came from?
Now I have three numbers, 500, 650, and 800.

650!?!?!?!? that seems really heavy.

the 3.4L i just popped in my car weighed in at 424 lb fully dressed EXCLUDING the ac compressor, which i imagine would be another 20lb or so.

the 5-speed transmission weighed in at 91 lb

The Bentley manual says a little more if I did the kilo- lbs. conversion right. Maybe a wet vs. dry variance & I have read 150-175 for 6-speed transaxle.

What does the muffler/exhaust weigh? some are quite heavy, the boxster one looks big.
