Yes, Castrol is a "full synthetic" under the accepted definition of the term. Exxon Mobil sued Castrol’s parent, BP, over the use of the term "full synthetic" which they (Exxon) thought they had the exclusive rights to. Courts said no, the term is a technical definition, not a trade mark or other form of intellectual property, so anyone that meets the definition is entitled to use the term.
