Not just for the garage, all faucets in my home get filtered water. It was just easier to plumb that way than to set up separate circuits. We don't have a big issue with hardness in the water, but organics and rust from the well itself... carbon filter gets it all.

I use a Swiffer for the dusty dash syndrom. It picks all the dust up with out pushing it around. It also stores neatly in the door pocket for use when you are zoned out stuck in traffic. I change it out about once a month.
