AUTOMOBILE Magazine's lastest blurb (May 2005, pg.26) mentioned $60k. Juicy pic of a red one too. Yummmmm.

60K sound much more like it would sell. I think you can buy a stripper 911 coupe for about $70K?

Word is it'll be $65K. Shows you why Porsche is so profitable. They dis-associate the Cayman from the Boxster, put in a motor that in reality costs no more than the 3.2L, and crank up the price. If anything, it should be priced the same as the Boxster S at most. Afterall, the 911 coupe doesn't cost more than the 911 cabrio. I really hope they price it ~$55K (wishful thinking).
Yes, you can buy a C6 for cheaper. You can also buy a Z4/S2K/Saturn Sky for cheaper than the Boxster. Apples/oranges.
Also rumored is Porsche's factory driver lapping the Nurburgring faster in the Cayman than the 997S. Imagine if it had the 3.6L or 3.8L motor...

I have to say that if it came down to a C6 vs a $75K Cayman, I would buy the C6. $25K more is lot of money to shell out for a slower car.
IHMO and you know I love Porsche. However, I think someone needs to wake these guys up on their pricing from time to time.
I can tell you that I have driven many a $90K 911 and with all due respect........

Yeah, it's funny how the boxster "coup" is much more expensive than the boxster ragtop. The rest of the car world makes the ragtop version of their cars more expensive not less....including the 911.

You know what's funny? ...you just described the 997. Since a 997 S can barely run with the C6, wonder how the regular 997 would match up? Might not be too pretty. DOH!
A $75K Cayman would indeed be ridiculous. Even at $65K it's pretty bad. I think they're banking on it to compete with the new M3 with the V8. I'm guessing the M will be priced somewhere in the high $50K's-low $60K's.

You clearly have not driven an C6. Nor a zo6.
These cars are fast and they handle. Keep in mind, there are alot of 911 drivers out there we would not want to have a beer with. It is about the CAR, not the drivers.
