It was a great day!

It rained quite a bit last week in MN, and the road salt has been washed away.
Yesterday hit 64degF, but I had not reinstated the insurance.
When I saw mid 50s forecasted today, I did not waste any time. Called insurance, took off a couple of hours early, and put on the first 80 miles of top down driving for 2010!
Slight chance of snow next week, but it will melt fast (I hope!).

When you live in Florida it's Boxster day everyday.

Sixty degrees yesterday and today; near 70 tomorrow in northern Chicago 'burbs. Very tempting to activate insurance, but I know we'll probably get six inches of snow next week. I'll be heading up to Elkhart Lake WI this weekend and would love to drive the Box...Road America should be coming out of its hibernation soon; I think first track event is this time next month.

Finishing up the final new toys for the season... h&r coilovers are in and buttoned up, new wideband 02 in and working, wiring some other new goodies too. Have to put the passanger seat in and change the oil. My insurance is always on the car. With a newborn I get about 10 mins a day to think about the box nevermind work on it. I do sneak out there though here and there. I'll be driving her next week to work I think.

I drove blondie in today. I forgot how quickly you can pick up speed in 6th gear and the sound the motor makes in 3rd and 4th when you wind it out.

As i started the car yesterday i heard a ticking noise. I was like "aw f......"

But after running the car for 5 minutes and going inside to look on the site to see what the issue may be, i went back out and the ticking was gone.

I love this car.

I drive her all year and just had a bunch of work done (both shop and myself). Yesterday I had the top down which is amazing for it still technically being winter and living in CT!

I'm not putting my summer wheels (recently refinished) on yet though because this warm weather spell is a teaser and it will go back to the 40's next week.

I de-ambered, added the PORSCHE logo's like the Spyder, aluminum shift knob, silver gauges, Maxspeed Headers, Maxspeed Cats (with stock muffler), new starter, water pump, newer fuel rails (old ones were rusted), newer injectors, new top, new windshield, and new break pads. Next I need to paint the calipers, add the wind stop, and touch up the various paint chips and wear with an air brush. The only pic I have so far is below but it isn't that great. I'll take others when I the refreshed wheels are installed.

Chris

Sticking lifters would be my guess, which is likely typical after sitting for a while. Sounds as though they loosened up and should be fine (read about it at Jake's site).

I fired up the "Danger mobile" last night and took to the road for a couple of hours . Just hearing the roar of that 9FF exhaust and custom M&M headers and cats made me feel "randy" all over . In fact, there were reports through out the region where I drove of people being over come by feelings of carnality.
