Tech Shop Durham is a membership-based club in a large space in a
corporate park on Stirrup Creek Drive near Miami and Alexander. What do
you get for your membership? You get access to all of the tools and
equipment that they have on site, including:
Milling machines and lathes
Epilog laser cutter
3-D printer
Sheet metal equipment
Welding equipment
An indoor automotive work bay
Woodworking equipment including a 5' x 8' CNC ShopBot router and a full
wood shop
Plastics working equipment
Hand tools
Computer-controlled vinyl cutter
Industrial sewing machines & sergers
Electronics soldering stations
Computer lab
CNC plasma cutter
Metal mills and lathes
and lots more.
The only requirements are that you share the access with other members
and that you take a safety class on the equipment that you want to use.
There is no requirement on the length of your membership, but it does
get cheaper the more months you purchase.
Individual memberships are $100 for 1 month, $550 for 6 months, and
$1000 for a year. For a limited time you can get your introductory
month for $19.95 or free if you set up for a three month membership &
auto-payments.
