I test drove an STi today...
...and I have to say I was surprised. Before I bought my Box, I had an 02 WRX(the first year it came out) and loved it. But then we got a dog and the result was getting a Boxster and a Subaru Forester. I was always intrigued with the STi and it appears as if Subarus improvements made it more refined inside. It has leather seats, climate control, Nav, not to mention the ability to adjust power to the rear and a sport setting. BUT what I was disappointed about was the acceleration. I know on paper it is supposed to be faster than my 03 Box S, but it sure didn't feel like it. Not to mention comparing the sound of the boxster engine to the STi would be like comparing a symphony orchestra to a 3rd grade band recital. I'm sure the handling is superb as I didn't really get a chance to scare the crap out of the guy at the car dealership. Anyway, I'll keep my Box thank you very much....
