This should get the spots off. 40 grit works the fastest.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I finally got around to claybarring it on the weekend. Works beautifully, except on the very bottom under the doors where the surface is too rough anyway.

I figured out that the previous owner must have driven through some wet paint, and there was lots more than I thought at first.

Anyway, most of the spots are now gone and I feel so much better for it. Even though I'm the only one that knows the spots are there.
